The Doomed Bird Of Providence

Australisch-britische Neofolk-Band, gegründet 2009 in London vom Australier Mark Kluzek (acc, p, vcl). Kluzeks anfängliche Absicht war es, Lieder über die Kolonialisierung von Australien zu vertonen. Erste Mitmusiker waren Stafford Glover (b), Andrew Barker (ukulele) und Dan Merrill (vio). Das Lineup erfuhr immer wieder Wechsel.

Auf der CD-R-EP "The Doomed Bird Of Providence" (Laily, 2009) wurden vier Tracks veröffentlicht. Sie erschienen auch unter dem Titel "EP" (Front And Follow, 2010) in DL-Form Ebenfalls als DL-EP kam "Live At The Bull & Gate" (Laily, 2009) heraus. Das erste Album hiess "Will Ever Pray" (Front And Follow, 2011).

 

Remixes eines Albumtracks von I Am A Vowel, Mark Beazley, Position Normal, Psychological Strategy Board, Zoon Van Snook und Robert Logan erschienen unter dem Titel "The Fedicia Exine Remixes" (Front & Follow, 2011). "Blind Mouths Eat" (Front & Follow, 2013) hiess das zweite Album. "You Brought The Knife" (Front & Follow, 2015) kam als CD-EP daher.

 

Das nächste Album hiess "Burrowed Into The Soft Sky" (Front And Follow, 2017). Seither kamen nur noch zwei EPs heraus.              07/24
